Our Literacy Project was born out of many hospital admissions and input from other medical families.

Reading is a way to bond with a caregiver, escape to a new world, pass the time while you’re inpatient, and improve confidence, empathy, comfort and relaxation.

Each child is gifted a book to take home with them, a custom bookmark with our mantras, and a handwritten note from our Caring Card Collective.

As hospitals serve patients from ALL backgrounds, we strive to provide a diverse set of literary options.

How to get involved!

Our greatest needs are books in Spanish and books for children ages 0-8, and teens.

We accept monetary donations.

Monetary donations are the biggest stretch for your dollar as we are able to purchase wholesale books, up to 90% off retail.

We also have an Amazon Wishlist full of books!

Host a Book Drive

Hosting a book drive is an amazing way to bring community together to support patients through literacy! One of the easiest ways to do this is to create an Amazon Wishlist and ask for books to be purchased through that page, so they can be shipped directly to us.
